On this the 50 year reunion weekend of LHHS football, I want to especially remember the character coaching that was instilled in us by Coaches Georges, McMillan, Miller, Russell, and others. I believe their efforts were extra-ordinary and I think of them often. I have recently come accross the nationwide organization Positive Coaching Alliance and ask that you check out their video at PositiveCoachVideo This short video, introduced by NFL star Steve Young, explains the importance of positive character teaching and coaching. Apparently this group has a large presence within Dallas ISD. I've also recently learned of a new k-12 basketball clinic in the Dallas area, Attackbball, their website is Attackbball they teach fundamentals and life lessons at locations in Carrollton and Highland Park. In these days of mixed values in our country, character coaching and passing on wisdom and values are important for our children and grandchildren. Let's continue the tradition and pass it on.
